PRESS RELEASE #26 - Interaction Announces Preliminary List of
Programme Participants

GLASGOW, Tuesday 18 January 2005.

Development of programme continues - Further names to be announced

Interaction, the 63rd World Science Fiction Convention has published a
preliminary list of programme participants on its Website at
http://www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk/proglist.htm.
The list is based on responses to a questionnaire posted on the
Interaction web site by the organising committee before Christmas.

"We are delighted with the response we have had so far," said Ian
Stockdale, Head of Interaction's Programming Division. "Based on this,
we are now fleshing out the structure of our overall programme. While
this will particularly highlight the work of our guests of honour, Greg
Pickersgill, Christopher Priest, Lars-Olov Strandberg, Robert Sheckley
and Jane Yolen, it will also range across the whole breadth of the
science fiction genre. We are always grateful to those active in the
science fiction field who give so freely of their time."

The present list currently stands at 34, plus the five guests of honour,
and includes Brian Aldiss, Cory Doctorow, Larry Niven, Terry Pratchett,
Kim Stanley Robinson, Robert Silverberg and Charles Stross. "The final
Interaction programme will involve several hundred participants
contributing to over 400 hours of programming and a dozen parallel
tracks," said Stockdale. "Accordingly we will be adding names to this
list as the programme develops and as expressions of interest are
received."

Interaction takes place in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference
Centre, Glasgow, Scotland from August 4 to 8, 2005. For further
information, please visit the convention Website at
http://www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk.
